HMK Highmark Boot Fit Tips

Walking around the house will help when you first receive the boots, but riding in them will encourage the best molding to your foot.

Select a comfortable pair of winter socks to wear that are not too thick. Be sure to choose socks that pull moisture away from the skin. HMK Socks are a great choice. Stay away from cotton, as it tends to stick to your feet. Footbeds and socks can dramatically change how your boots will fit. Thick socks and thick footbeds will require a larger boot. (HMK Socks are a good choice)

The liner in the Highmark Pro Series Boots are heat sensitive and the body heat of your foot and leg will custom mold the liner to your foot as you break them in. Do not use a home oven or other heat source to mold them, just use them and enjoy.

Be sure to set your heel in the boot when you put them on - just hit the heel of the boot into the floor while sitting in a chair to slide the foot back into the heel pocket. Then lace as normal. Your toes can lightly touch the toe box, but if they are uncomfortable or curled over we recommend a larger size.

All HMK Pro Series Boots come standard with a high performance footbed. HMK also includes an additional thin footbed with your purchase at no additional charge. The high performance footbed offers additional heel padding and arch support. The thin foot bed is offered for those that want more room in their boot. To use the thin footbed just remove the high performance footbed in the Highmark Pro Series Boot Liner and replace it with the new one. You can also purchase and use a footbed from a sport shop or pharmacy that is personally designed for your needs.

When drying the boots after a day of riding, remove the liner and footbeds from the boot and turn them upside down to get air circulating into the boot to speed the drying process. Do not place on or near an open flame or a direct heat source as the liner is heat sensitive and could change shape. Use a boot dryer if you can. In the morning just put the boot back together again and go riding.

HMK sets the Highmark for High Performance Snowmobiling boots. All of us here at HMK are dedicated to providing you with boots that are as functional and durable as they are good looking. The ability to withstand the abuses of snowmobiling is key to each and every product we build. However, as you are aware, snowmobiles can be tough on boots and can cause surface abrasion in certain areas. This type of wear is inherent to snowmobiling, and is not considered a manufacturing defect. Therefore, we cannot warranty against this type of wear.
